I live and paint in Portland, Oregon with my husband, daughter, two dogs and two cats. I have been drawing and painting longer than I can remember. It brings me joy and is plain old messy good fun.
I go outside every day. I love to bicycle, hike and ski, anything that allows me to move under my own power. I always have a sewing project going, usually quilting, which I like to do as much by hand as possible. I find stichwork to be meditative, busying my hands while allowing my mind to float free. This is why so much of my work contains stitched elements. I have a great big garden. My favorite flower is whatever is in bloom. I am especially fond of fragrant ones. If you ask me what my favorite color is, I will say “For what?”. I am fond of stupid movies, good books and bad puns. I sing off key, but that rarely stops me.
I want my paintings to bring people the same joy that they give me when I paint them.
